Consulting and Lessons
I am available on a contract basis as a consultant, a writer and a private music instructor.
I have extensive experience in the business world related to professional audio and video systems. I worked as a senior executive at several audio/video workstation companies, including Tarari, Avid Technology, WaveFrame, Sonic Solutions and Merging Technologies. I have been an active member of standards committees for the Audio Engineering Society (file format interchange), Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (video format committee) and an Emmy award judge for the Pacific Southwest chapter of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
During my business career, I had the opportunity to travel the world and provide technical consultation to recording studios, postproduction facilities and film studios. I delivered training and presentations at international audio/video seminars and conventions. As an educator, I have taught private lessons for music majors in a college setting; I established a state-approved program in Commercial Music and Audio Production for Midland College and I currently teach in the Audio Production program for The Art Institute of California - San Diego.
I am a published writer and have contributed articles to several professional audio/video publications including Mix Magazine, Pro Sound News and TV Technology.
